This statement is about some terms that you will come across in rates of reaction work in the second half of the course - rate equation, order of reaction, rate constant, half-life of a reaction and rate-determining step.

Before you go on, you should find and read the statement in your copy of the syllabus.

It is pointless trying to define these without any background understanding, and all of them are explained in later statements.

You will find all but half-life covered in statements 8(g) and 8(i). Half-life is explained in statement 8(h).
